Thank you for the information! I was wondering, I have some experience with tambour embroidery have been designing bags recently using cotton fabric but i would like to use it on jean material to create my own version of the sashiko technique. Could i do it on this fabric would i need to use my bigger needle or buy an even bigger one, in terms of the thread I assume i’d have to also get a thinker one than normal
@@sduhecheva5516 yes, you chose a needle with the thread you use.
Wait does deconstructing lace mean you take a base pattern and slice it up in order to re-combine it into a different look? Like you take the pattern, think about how its shapes could create something new and make it so?
@@QuikVidGuy yes! I cut out the motifs of the lace and re-order them, sometimes overlapping

Thanks for your information. I'm curious also ,if the embroidery can't be washed by washing machine,then how shall I wash it ?for example an embroidered jacket ? thanks !
Great question! It is haute couture embroidery . Imagine embroidered dresses being tossed in the washing machine ….:-) . Same with clothing for opera and theatre. Of course you may hang it in the air and there are ways to clean with a dot of fabric with alcohol which kills bacteria (armpit area), but this is something you should try out carefully and at your own risk 🤪

Thank you for this video! Would 6 momme be suitable? I also wonder if it is wise to pre-wash the fabric to deal with the shrinkage before you do anything with it...
As every fabric acts different and every use has its own perks, I would recommend you to always make samples to make sure the result meets your standard👍
This looks a technique I should definitely try out! Can you use any machine for this?
It looks like you can … however, there is a huge preference for a reversed old sewing machine, powered by treadle, as it gives you room to manipulate the yarn

Working with glue is no option for me :). I love the handmade feel of the work. But that is of course my personal opinion. Do you glue materials often?

Thank you so much for these videos! I just started and I am having trouble with my thread breaking. What am I doing wrong? I am using Fil au Chinois thread, as recommended. And it's been happening after about every 20 beads. Should I cast off more often? How many beads can I place before you recommend I cast off again, just to secure it and be safe? Thank you so much!!
Hi 👋! Your thread shouldn’t break at all. Which type of thread do you use? Fil Au Chinois is a brand name. You need the Fil à Gant from Fil Au Chinois 👍✨
Hi @@SaskiaterWelleRisseeuw ! I just checked and I am using Fil à Gant, so strange! I have only just started learning tambour, so I'm probably not doing the stitch right yet. I think I sometimes might not hook the thread perfectly, and therefore pulling up only part of the thread instead of the whole thing, making me split the thread. And other ideas what I might be doing wrong?
@@woezzelboefje most people starting with Tambour embroidery tend to hold the thread quite tense (trying to concentrate really) … this might be the reason.

Een zogenoemde quilt pen /potlood. Dit is een soort vulpotlood voor stof: mooi e dunne lijnen! Ik gebruik meestal witte vullingen, maar er is ook geel, groen en roze.

Thanks for the tutorial! Does this damage the fabric near the pins and stitching area?
If you know how to handle the materials well, it does not damage the fabric. You will see holes in the fabric, but the threads of the fabric are just pushed aside. With steam these threads bounce back to their original place/shape.
